France snatched a narrow victory over Wales in Cardiff to put one hand on the RBS Six Nations Championship.
It took a poor French side 73 minutes to take the lead against a spirited and impressive Welsh performance.
A superb try from Hal Luscombe and eight points from the boot of fly-half Stephen Jones earned Wales a deserved 13-6 half-time lead.
France hit back through Dimitri Szarzewski but Wales led until Florian Fritz's late score under the posts.
Only a convincing Ireland victory over England could deny France the title.
